Jewish Convivencia Feast page is up

Note that if you kindly volunteered to help, there will be NO CHARGE for the food (though you might end up eating in the back room!

Yeah, it's pricey, though in line with the regular fundraiser costs in our area of North Jersey. I guarantee attendees will get value for their money, and take home some doggie bags. :)

Brighid ni Charain who translated de Nola's Libro de Coch in the Florilegium has been asked to come and plans to be there to speak.

Man, I wish you were local. I'd love to see what happened if I put you and Kevin (chef at our shul) in the kitchen together :D I think you'd have a ball!

I wish I could come, because it looks like fun.

That's actually very reasonable (indeed, inexpensive) for a fundraiser in this area... After all, the point is to Actually Raise Money. The organization should have a good profit, and the volunteers should all feel their hard work has been valued and reasonably repaid. (In the SCA, the Cause seems to be everyone's individual wallets. Which itself can be a Good Thing - I've certainly had a tight budget all along, and appreciate inexpensive feasts - but we tend to forget how that happens.)

I wish I could be there - just to be with you and Brighid in the same room again! Aside from other issues, though, I'll probably still be in some version of Family Moving/Medical Hell...
