A random plug for a company

Dealing with the current round of health-care stuff, I've had one outstandingly good experience.
CCS Medical: http://www.ccsmed.com/english/index.asp
Handles some of my gestational diabetes supplies.
They are amazing. They will go to bat with my insurance company to get me shipments, they call me back, they speak in calm and soothing tones... basically, every one of their employees I've dealt with has been helpful, knowledgeable, polite...
In the modern healthcare environment, their customer service stands out.

That's kind of how I feel about my new pain giv...er, ... dentist office. ;-) They really are good about their customer service and it makes me wonder...is this going to be one of the big differentiator trends coming up? "People don't want to spend money, so how can we get them to? I know, we'll actually *train* our employees and teach them to be polite. Won't that shock the heck out of everyone?"

Actually, I heard something about this very theory on NPR this morning, I think.

PS As I am in the market for a new dentist myself, I went to your journal to see where you are located. Sadly, MD to MI is a bit of a stretch for a dentist, but I LOVE your innocent/eager/doomed tagline. I teach English and use examples from The Transitive Vampire all the time. :)

Yes, I suppose that would be quite a trip for someone looking for a dentist, eh? As for the tagline, yes, that's exactly so. Props to you for recognizing it. Oddly enough I had instructors in my master's level grammar courses (and rhetoric and style) that used this book as their bible. It's one of the first times I've ever had a really cool book as a textbook (not including fiction review courses, of course).

I think...

I only put up with my new OB because his office person is so helpful.

I hear ya, though having a good OB can be a blessing. And I only put up with my GP because she's so helpful, despite her office staff all being a bit fruity.

Thank you so much for this link! My parents don't need the supply-end of CCS (yet--knock wood), but their current mail-order prescription supplier is making them absolutely crazed (sending doubles of some scripts while completely omitting others, for example). While I'm with them over Thanksgiving, we'll check and see if CCS accepts their insurance.

Thank you again!
