And it's in asking these questions of yourself that you prove yourself as a researcher. You realise that personal opinions may sway the results. Those researchers that don't are almost unknowingly mislead. And this goes just as much for the so-called "hard sciences", too.
Being aware of this pitfall is what helps you state facts and let them stand for themselves, and make it really clear when you're stating an opinion. IMO, this self-doubt makes you a better researcher :)
