watch what you dream about

This, from an old SCA-cooks posting of mine:
And now, of course, I'm in charge of the feast service for Crown Tourney, which is to be as period and authentic as possible. (On hearing the request, I admit that I responded, "Oh. Firebrand's wet dream.")
One should probably not read the article in TI on Alexis of Piedmont, along with All the King's Cooks, immediately before bed.
I had a dream that Coronation was being put on in a local group near me.
That they had arranged painted arches, beams, etc. on brown paper and on muslin to hang over the walls of the site to make it look more period (and it did). that they had arranged hundreds of pieces of period-style dishes and silverware. That the lords of the land did ritual handwashing for the King and Queen as part of the coronation ceremony, and that the highest cooks in the land repeated that ceremony before, during, and after dinner. That straw-filled wagons were used to carry plate and delicate dishware from the kitchen to the serving area. That a multitude of subtleties of sugarpaste and marchpane were presented, each more amazing than the last. That I got to help in the kitchen and to wash dishes.
Then I woke up. *sigh*
