I was looking for something online about the vendors who used to bring pre-killed rabbits for sale into the City of York in medieval times, tying each body to their belts so that they appeared to have an apron or skirt of them. (I read about this in Feeding a City: York but of course can't find my photocopy.)
I then found myself in the Medieval Bestiary:

and was wondering why it covered Rabbits and not Hares, only to find out that it does cover Hares, they just aren't listed in the list of animals they have pictures of.
