SCA questions meme from Alienor

2. What is your home kingdom?
East, for my sins.
3. Have you ever lived in another kingdom? If so, where?
Well... there was the week in Atlantia...
4. Do you remember your first SCA event? When/what was it?
Northern Region War Camp, summer of 1994. I remember a lot about it.
5. Do you have any awards? (You don't have to list them if you don't want)
Yes. AoA, Silver Crescent (high order of merit for service), Maunche (high order of merit for arts), Laurel, and I think I have a queen's order of distinction or something, but I've never gotten the token.
6. Do you list them after your name in communications like e-mail?
No, not generally.
7. Do you have a device?
Yup. Several. Badge, Device, and Maker's Mark.
8. Do you use it? On what?
My website, some of my stuff.
9. Are you on all the kingdom/society lists available to you, or do you avoid them?
I'm avoiding the two main ones in my kingdom, for the same reason I don't watch Tarantino movies.
10. Do you keep your Pennsic/Estrella/Gulf Wars/etc. site tokens?
I keep all my tokens. We have a display in the front hall of the house. :)
11. Do you keep the favours you've been given by royalty/friends/Sos, etc.? Do You wear them all?
I keep tokens. I can't be trusted to wear things and not lose them. I've never gotten a favor except for cooking part of someone's wedding feast.
12. Do you call your friends by their SCA names even when you're not at an event?
Depends on how well I know them and who I'm with. I've had several lovers I called by their SCA names even in bed, because they preferred it or it was just less confusing.
13. Do you go out to dinner in garb after an event?
Yup. My garb is mostly more comfy than mundanes.
14. Do you have all kinds of garb, or do you generally stick to one period?
Several different kinds-- tunics and some late imitation German ren.
15. How many interests do you have within the SCA? What's your favourite?
Billions and billions. Herbs are my favorite, of course. Or maybe research. Or...
16. Do you have an SCA-oriented web site (to show off projects, keep dress diaries, etc.)?
Several! The public part of this LJ, plus most of my regular website.
17. Do you maintain a hairstyle that is more period style than modern? How about any other part of your appearance?
I look awful in short hair and hate having to fuss with it. So I wear the hairstyle my mom came up with for me 15 years ago. Mostly it works in an SCA context; I also wear buns at work & in the SCA
18. Do you tell "No $###, there I was" stories? (Admit it.)
Oh yeah. Mostly court and kitchen.
19. Authenticity is Fun. Yes or no?
Yes and no. I like to do things in an authentic way, but I don't camp authentically and my garb sucks. It bothers me that that ruins it for other people.
20. Is there one modern thing at events that really bugs you?
Suck-ups and people who don't pitch in.
Bonus Question! 21. Everyone has a shameful garb/accessory mistake hidden somewhere in their past. What's yours? (We're all friends here, we promise not to laugh. Much.)
I made my first skirt out of a piece of yummy purple shammy-cloth. I didn't understand the directions I was given, so I tried to make it with curved panels the way I usually made skirts. It was way too short and too wide. A waste of yummy fabric.
