Post-pennsic random thoughts

For those who aren't in the SCA, feel free to skip...

1. I took an Apprentice, Lady Isabella d'Allaines-le-Comte.

2. Handwashing at the Royalty Dinner. Nunc dimmitis.

3. Chamomile may be the plants' physician, but volunteers are not chamomile to smell the sweeter for being trodden on.

4. The Carolingian Men in Black are damn impressive.

5. Apparently I can teach 11 sessions of classes, etc. without even knowing.

6. Sore throats at Pennsic are not fun.

7. I am slowly becoming accustomed to having a romantic life at Pennsic but I still find it disorienting.

8. I didn't know people's faces actually darkened with emotion...

9. I can now identify a bunch more weeds than I could before I left!

10. I will never, ever, schedule myself so that the first thing I do at Pennsic is make an airport run. Again.

11. I have an Aquamanile!

12. Vast, biblical quantities of laundry have been done.

13. The pneumatic properties of double-high airbeds are, ahem, peculiar.

14. I have a truly amazing capacity for contact drunkenness.

15. Tibor-- Do Not Taunt Happy Fun Cook!

16. Taking the bus back and forth from parking every time makes my knee much happier.

17. "We're all heralds here, and very drunk."

18. Yes, it's arthritis. If I take NSAIDs and use a stick when it hurts, my life is better.

19. Labor day/Convivencia is nearer than I like to think.

Nunc dimmitis indeed. :-) It was an interesting evening, but working with you was great. You know your stuff, and do it well.

My lady is particularly impressed with your classes, and made a modified version of one of your dishes last night for dinner. (Modified to fit my diet, not for any other reason.)

I do not miss air beds. :-)

you know

I just realized I never responded to this... what recipe was it? I'm glad you liked it, and I'm glad to hear that your lady liked my classes. That makes me a Happy Teacher.

Oh, it has been so long... but it was one of the green veggie recipes, cooked down. As a side dish.

Sigh. Memory is the second thing to go, you know....
